Built on experience.

Focused on what matters.

I'm Jullian Shawcross, founder of Madurez AI — built on a straightforward conviction: boards and leadership teams are being asked to make increasingly important decisions about AI without always having the literacy, confidence or independent insight to do so effectively. Much of the advice available to them is either too generic to act on, too conflicted to trust, or too detached from the realities of regulated and professional services to be genuinely useful.

For thirty years, I have worked in and around complex, regulated businesses — co-founding and leading a regulated business from inception, through a management buyout, to its eventual sale in 2024. That experience has given me a deep understanding of leadership, governance, risk, regulation, operations and the practical realities of running a business.

More recently, I have focused that experience on AI and its implications for organisations and their boards. I have taught AI and FinTech at postgraduate level and completed a Doctor of Business Administration, with research grounded in many of the questions organisations are now facing.

My experience is rooted in insurance and regulated financial services, but the capabilities developed through that career are highly transferable. The challenges of understanding an organisation, identifying problems, managing risk, improving processes and making sound strategic decisions exist across sectors.

Madurez AI brings those capabilities together with contemporary AI expertise to help leadership teams understand where they really are, identify what matters, and decide what to do next — independently and without a technology solution to sell.

AI advice should help you make a decision — not sell you one.

Most AI advice given to boards is either too generic to act on, too conflicted to trust, or too detached from the realities of running a business.

Madurez AI takes a different approach: independent, evidence-led and grounded in real business experience.

Independent by design

Madurez AI has no technology platform to sell, no implementation revenue to protect and no preferred vendor whose solution has to fit the answer.

That means the advice can remain objective.

Sometimes the answer will be to invest in AI.

Sometimes the priority will be to fix the underlying process, data, technology or governance first.

And sometimes the right answer will be not to use AI at all.

The recommendation follows the problem — not the technology.

Built in regulated financial services. Applicable beyond it.

My experience is rooted in insurance and regulated financial services, where governance, risk, accountability and customer outcomes matter.

But the underlying skills are transferable.

Understanding complex organisations. Identifying problems. Challenging assumptions.

Managing risk. Improving processes. Assessing technology. Making informed investment decisions.

These challenges exist across sectors.

Madurez applies that experience wherever leadership teams need an honest assessment of where they are with AI and what they should do next.

Founder-led. Board-level. Practical.

You deal directly with the person doing the work.

No layers of consultants. No generic methodology delivered by someone who doesn't understand your organisation.

The objective is simple:

Understand where you really are.

Identify what actually matters.

Decide what to do next.

The Madurez difference

Independent - No technology or implementation agenda.

Experienced - Thirty years of business, leadership and governance experience.

AI-focused - Contemporary AI expertise grounded in research, teaching and practical application.

Practical - Recommendations designed to be acted upon — not filed away.

Transferable - Built in regulated financial services, applicable across sectors.
